POA Residents/Members,

In May of 2018 the South Carolina Homeowners Association Act passed into law here in our state. This act speaks to three groups:  The governing boards of all associations, the South Carolina Consumer Affairs Division, and the residential homeowners of any homeowners association.

It is important that you familiarize yourself with the entire act.  Of particular importance to you is the section dealing with Residential Homeowners. You have new responsibilities under this act before you sell your house or townhouse.

To read this act in its entirety, go to Google and type in South Carolina Homeowners Association, then click on 2017-2018 Bill 3886: Homeowners Association-SC.  You can also CLICK HERE to download a copy of the act.

There will be a meeting Friday, February 15 at 11:oo am in the large room at the Corley Center for all POA members to discuss this act.  Gary Clary, our representative in the SC legislature, will be our guest speaker.  Gary will be able to answer your questions and address your concerns.

Should you have questions prior to our meeting, please call the SC Consumer Affairs Department at 1-800-922-1594.
